What’s on
Daoud Aoulad-Syad is known for his black-and-white film photographs of fairground folk and street performers. At MACAAL, the Artist Room shows the other side: 36 colour photographs, like the 36 frames of a roll of film, 24 of them printed for the first time. Morocco in the 1980s, caught in the street.
The show runs in three sequences, the square (Sa7a), the alley (Znika) and the market arcade (Kisarya), and ends with a film by the photographer, also a filmmaker (Adieu Forain). Curated by Farah Maakel, with the Institut français du Maroc.
Best time: a Sunday morning, then the Al Maaden sculpture park, included in the ticket.
