Floating Cities #Opus Morocco – "Along the Flow of Water and the Sacred"
Together, these embroidered frescoes tell how symbols traverse time, transform, and continue to inhabit our collective imagination.
The Moroccan opus of Floating Cities features immersive embroidered frescoes that question the permanence of symbols and their transmission across cultures. They are the result of research on symbols, conducted with curator Alaa Eddine Sagid (Museum, World of Jewelry Arts). The embroideries were created by the embroidery collective Iminouzerg, in partnership with Timendotes and Brodeuse Voyageuse, in an approach of transmission and valorization of local savoir-faire that celebrates the reinterpretation of emblematic elements of the Moroccan caftan: the sfifa, the qitan, and the âaqad.
