What’s on
Laura Nsafou, Afrofeminist writer and blogger, addresses on her blog Mrs Roots the issues surrounding Afrofeminism in France and the visibility of Afro literature. From the creation of her platform mrsroots.fr to the animation of several cultural projects (writing workshops, meetups, youth workshops, etc.), she is concerned about the lack of representation of Black people in French literature.
She is also the author of several young adult albums, including the best-selling album « Comme un million de papillons noirs », published by Editions Cambourakis; an audio storytelling album « Les Lumineuses », released in February 2021 by Lunii editions, now translated into Spanish, English, and Italian. In September 2021, she signed an Afro-dystopian Young Adult trilogy, « Nos Jours Brûlés », with Albin Michel editions, and scripted two graphic novels, « Amours Croisées » and « Quand vient l’été », with Marabout editions. In October 2025, she releases her novel « Écrire avant l’aube » with Albin Michel Jeunesse editions. A fictionalized biography about the Nobel Prize laureate Toni Morrison, exploring the themes of identity, memory, and resilience through the journey of a young heroine in search of meaning and transmission.
