What’s on
The media library of the Institut français de Rabat invites you to a musical letter by Hajar Azell from her work "Letter to an Introvert". Musical accompaniment by Souhail Sabbahi. The event will take place on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 6:30 PM, in partnership with the Institut National Supérieur de Musique et des Arts Chorégraphiques (INSMAC). Hajar Azell published her first novel, L'envers de l'été, in 2021, followed by Le sens de la fuite in 2025. Her writing explores issues of identity, memory, lineage, and the place of women in society. Through sensitive and poetic prose, she examines the links between personal history and collective history.
"From Rabat, Hajar writes a letter to Imane, her young cousin who lives in Khemisset. Through the drawings the young girl publishes online, Hajar perceives a precious strength: that of introverted beings who observe, feel, and transform the world into creation. In an intimate and introspective letter, Hajar encourages her young cousin to trust herself and not leave her place to those who take up all the space, to invent her own, with her own words, her own games. A letter for Imane, and for all those who, somewhere in the world, invent their own universes and speak little." Letter to an Introvert was published in 2026 by Le Sélénite.
