Marrakech Comedy Festival — The first edition that will make history
From June 4 to 6, 2026, Marrakech is preparing to live three historic days. For its very first edition, the Marrakech Comedy Festival is taking over the Palais des Congrès de Marrakech and turning the ochre city into the world capital of laughter. An unprecedented appointment, designed as a living bridge between Francophone, Arabophone and international scenes — and already one of the most anticipated cultural events of the year in Morocco.
A festival born from a shared vision
Behind this first edition, two names that command authority in the entertainment world. Karim Debbouze, an experienced producer with over twenty years of experience in event management and show business, is the founder and architect of this large-scale project. He imagined a festival capable of shining far beyond Moroccan borders, making Marrakech a cultural epicentre in its own right.
By his side, Malik Bentalha takes on the role of master of ceremonies and artistic director. A figure of Francophone humour, he has accumulated years of success on stage, in cinema and on television. His artistic vision, his demands and his unique connection with the audience will be at the heart of the festival's identity.
Three days, three atmospheres
The festival's programming revolves around carefully thought-out highlights to offer the audience a complete experience:
- Thursday 4 June — Arabophone Gala: an evening dedicated to Arabophone humour, under the artistic direction of Eko, to celebrate the best of the comedy scene in Darija and Arabic.
- Friday 5 and Saturday 6 June — Francophone Galas: two major evenings hosted by Malik Bentalha, bringing together comedians from both sides of the Mediterranean on the same stage.
- Side events: alongside the galas, satellite events will come to enrich the festival experience throughout the weekend.
An unprecedented media setup
The Marrakech Comedy Festival is not just a show — it is a true media event. The partners gathered for this first edition testify to the ambition of the project: 2M, TV5 Monde, FNAC Spectacles, and an exceptional relocation of NRJ France with the live broadcast of the Camille Combal show from Marrakech.
But the big first is Disney+: the Francophone gala will be the subject of an exceptional capture broadcast on the platform — a world first for a humour show in French on Disney+.
Why it's an appointment not to be missed
Because it's not every day that a city like Marrakech hosts an event of this magnitude. Because humour, whether in French or Arabic, has the unique power to bring people together, break down barriers and create collective memories.
