Calypso Beach Club review: our verdict
Direct access to a private beach, a clean pool, and unobstructed ocean views: the Calypso Beach Club has bet everything on a sun-filled day at Taghazout Bay, located at kilometer 17 on the road to Essaouira. You can settle into a shell or right by the water, while the team takes care of the rest, from the first drink to the last ray of sun, since the house closes at 8 p.m.
It is the perfect spot for a day out with friends or a seaside birthday celebration, with a smiling staff from Zineb to Faïza attending to every detail until closing. Electro music plays all day, which pleases some and exhausts others. And the bill climbs quickly: a shell advertised at 1,000 DH (as of May 2026), to which other charges may be added. Families seeking calm or those on a tight budget will find their happiness on a public beach in the bay.
The trap: settling in without asking for the total daily price, including rental, before laying out your towel. Open every day from noon to 8 p.m.: it is a daytime outing, not a night out.
