Wake Up review: our verdict
Wake Up's menu resembles a breakfast directory, featuring brunch plates, a dozen omelettes, sweet and savoury crepes, pancakes, waffles, smoothie bowls, fourteen juices, and an equal number of hot drinks. The plates arrive fully loaded, ranging from croissants stuffed with scrambled eggs to sharing platters served with carafe orange juice.
The dining room is quiet and clean, with a planted terrace overlooking Avenue Mohamed El Fassi, and you can also order online for takeaway or delivery. It is the perfect spot for a budget-friendly brunch with friends or family, though it may disappoint those who insist on getting the exact same dish every time, as quality depends on who is cooking and who is serving.
The dish to order: a savoury crepe, such as tuna, or the sweet crepes. The pitfall: on Fridays in the early afternoon, the house closes from 13:30 to 14:15. The best slot: in the morning from 8 a.m., when the dining room is still calm.
