In the Sidi Ghanem area, Côté Bougie has been hand-pouring its candles since 2003. The establishment focuses on carefully selected materials: 100% vegetable wax, lead- and chlorine-free Italian cotton wicks, and fragrances from Grasse. The olfactory palette ranges from orange blossom to amber and musk, with gourmand notes like crème brûlée or Bourbon vanilla, and fresh touches of green tea or lemongrass.
In the showroom, there is time to smell, compare, and receive advice, and the team is happy to explain how the candles are made. The main advantage is customisation: colour, fragrance, quantity; the house can produce a full series for a wedding or anniversary, sometimes in less than two weeks. Regulars slip them into their suitcases on every trip, especially since the prices remain more affordable than in France; others order online with international delivery.
Note: the Sidi Ghanem address closes on Saturdays at 13:00 and all Sundays; for a more central purchase, the brand also has a boutique on M Avenue. Budget for a beautiful gift rather than a small souvenir. An address that perfumes the home long after the trip.
