L'Uzine review: our verdict
On the glass façade, a slogan reads: "Culture for all." In the courtyard, there is a giant Tetris-painted wall and a table suspended from swings. L'Uzine, supported by the Touria Foundation and Abdelaziz Tazi, has transformed a former factory in Aïn Sebaâ into a cultural centre focused on young Casablanca creators: exhibitions on the ground floor, concerts, workshops, and meetings between artists.
People come here for a musical evening, an opening, or a workshop, and linger at the small bar-snack and its terrace. The venue also trains: its Content Creation Academy guides young creatives toward employment. It is the address for curious visitors, students, and families looking for a cultural outing away from the city centre. It is not a large-scale performance hall: concerts retain a human scale, and the organisation remains that of a non-profit structure.
The good tip: the swing table in the courtyard, for a break and a photo. The best time to visit: Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 7 pm, or in the evening for concerts. The trap: coming on a Sunday or Monday, it is closed.
