Maison El Alami review: our verdict
Fresh gazelle horns and almond cakes, which taste homemade, are what earned Maison El Alami its spot in Tamaris through its sweet treats. The house also serves chicken or seafood pastillas and hearty tajines, takes orders, and displays its products in the window, allowing you to shop while waiting.
The welcome is friendly and the atmosphere convivial, making it suitable for a family lunch or a stop to pick up an assortment of cakes before a visit. The savory side is less consistent than the sweet: a chicken pastilla priced at 750 DH (as of July 2026) may disappoint at that cost. Not for those who want to order a large piece blindly: taste first on site.
The dish to order: the gazelle horns and almond cakes, the true strength of the house. The trap: coming on a Monday, when the shop is closed; from Tuesday to Sunday, it closes at 8:30 PM.
