XO Food Philosophy review: our verdict
At XO, music is as important as the food: a jazz band plays live, often joined by a remarkable vocalist, and the lounge takes on the tempo. In the kitchen, a chef signs off a fusion menu: red tuna tataki, beef fillet where you choose the doneness, sauce, and garnishes, and desserts that count, from half-baked chocolate to pavlova.
You come for an evening that lasts: a romantic dinner, a night out with friends, or a drink with colleagues after work. The service is friendly, the manager walks the floor, and the cocktails hold their own. Avoid if you want to eat quickly and in silence: the concert is part of the meal, and the menu is savoured slowly. Terrace and parking, on Mustapha El Manfalouti Street, facilitate arrival.
The dish to order: the beef fillet, adjusted to your taste. The trap: the tuna tataki, fresh and lively one night, rubbery the next. The good tip: leave room for dessert, the house's strong point.
