Meday Spa review: our verdict
A vaulted room with marble basins, sculpted niches, and low stools: the Meday Spa hammam is shaped like a traditional beldi hammam rather than a modern spa cabin. Here you follow the ritual of black soap and exfoliation, complete with a body mask, while the house also offers an oud hammam for those who prefer heavier, more aromatic scents.
Men and women each have their own hammam, allowing couples to visit together, each on their own side, just as in the baths of old. On the women's side, the institute offers a sequence of hair treatments, facial care, and massages that are relaxing, toning, or deep. Those looking for a hotel spa with a pool and jacuzzi should go elsewhere: here, everything revolves around the hammam, and the decor of the relaxation lounge, with its golden curtains and lanterns, does not overshadow the treatments.
The treatment to book is the royal hammam, including exfoliation with black soap. The good deal: the displayed prices are what you pay, with no hidden surcharges added at the end. Note: open Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 9 pm, closed on Mondays; reservations can be made by phone or WhatsApp.
