Our review
Route du Golf Royal, on the Annakhil side, Al Maaden has been offering a 18-hole course signed by Kyle Phillips on 72 hectares since 2010. What sets it apart: a dozen monumental sculptures placed along the course, and rectangular ponds reminiscent of those at Ménara, with the Atlas in the background. The layout, measuring 7,369 meters, offers wide fairways, fast greens, and plenty of water hazards.
The terrain is flat and easy to walk, making it a good choice for golfers of all levels, especially since the academy supports beginners. A 300-meter practice area, putting green, pro shop, caddies, and trolleys complete the offering. After the round, the clubhouse offers a brunch for 350 dirhams and a barbecue on Fridays and Saturdays for 220 dirhams. A lovely day with friends, especially in the late afternoon when the sun sets over the mountains.
Keep in mind: construction sites border part of the course, with the accompanying noise, and service at the clubhouse can be slow. In hot weather, take a trolley; the course is long. For an original 18 holes just twenty minutes from the city, it remains a solid choice.
