Bowling Marrakech review: our verdict
Three days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Bowling Marrakech hosts its tournament, which has become a gathering point for a regular crowd who come as much for the competition as for the atmosphere. The rest of the time, the lanes do the job: in good condition, regularly maintained, with machines that don't let you down mid-game. The venue opens every day from 3 pm to midnight.
An outing that works well with friends or family, without any special preparation. On evenings of major matches, a big screen and comfortable seats welcome fans, just like for the opening match of Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations. Regular players will be less impressed: the balls, scratched and worn for the most part, penalise throwing accuracy, and the welcome sometimes lacks warmth.
The best slot: a Tuesday, a Wednesday or a Thursday, to play the tournament. The trap: arriving in a hurry, when only one person manages both registration and the lanes at once. The best tip: an evening of Atlas Lions matches, in front of the big screen.
