Buddha-Bar Marrakech review: our verdict
A golden Buddha statue several meters tall presides over the back of the room, nestled between crystal chandeliers and red drapes: at Buddha-Bar Marrakech, the decor sets the tone for the evening. Every night from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., groups take the stage in succession until a finale brings all the artists together, while the dining room enjoys an ambiance of amber and blue light.
In the bowl, Asian cuisine does the work: sushi and starters are the highlight, while main courses are less impressive. Expect a bit of a rush upon arrival, successful cocktails, and service that varies by table. This is the spot for a birthday, a night out with friends, or a first evening in Marrakech where you want something spectacular; it is not ideal for a dinner where you wish to converse, nor for a tight budget, and a group of people in their twenties might find the show a bit tame.
The dish to order: a shared assortment of sushi and starters. The pitfall: coming without a reservation, and you'll find yourself upstairs with a reduced view of the stage. The best time slot: arrive around 9:30 p.m. to order before the shows begin.
