Cabestan Ocean View review: our verdict
The cliff does half the work. Perched above the ocean on the Corniche, Cabestan Ocean View looks straight at the El Hank lighthouse, and it is this panorama, more than the menu, that fills the room. On the plate, the sea dominates with fresh oysters and fish, but a perfectly cooked steak and crispy fries also hold their own. A serious cuisine, still missing one notch to match the setting.
Service is the other strong point: an attentive, professional team that knows its tables and knows how to welcome without stiffness. The atmosphere hovers between chic and relaxed, enough to convince for a tête-à-tête facing the open sea, a dessert on the terrace, or guests to show the Atlantic. Less for a quiet conversation: in the evening, the lights drop sharply and the volume rises.
The trap: booking without specifying "sea view table", while that is the whole reason to come. The right slot: a clear day, when the view reaches the lighthouse and beyond. As for hours, the house serves until 2 a.m., and until 3 a.m. from Thursday to Saturday.
