Cactus Thiemann review: our verdict
Tall rows of candles, endless fields of golden mother-in-law's tongue, and prickly pears studded with pink fruit: Cactus Thiemann looks like a western movie set placed at the gates of Marrakech. The estate was born from the collection of Hans Thiemann, a German horticultural engineer who arrived in the region in 1964 with his research and plants.
You can stroll at your own pace, with family or a partner, among dozens of species, while two dromedaries live on the premises. The place is quiet and very photogenic, located about ten kilometers on the road from Casablanca, facing the Grand Stade. It is not a park with activities or a café: a small spot allows you to sit, but the choice of drinks and snacks is limited, and the site closes early.
The tip: bring something to picnic, as you can eat on site. The pitfall: going on a Sunday, as it is closed. The best slot: in the morning, right from opening at 10 am, before the heat; closing at 5 pm.
