Our review
Rue Mouassine, opposite the Secret Garden, Café Arabe is one of the few spots in the medina where you can enjoy wine, beer, and cocktails. The establishment spans several levels: a courtyard planted with lemon trees and featuring a fountain, rooms with green walls and bohemian decor, and finally a rooftop offering a 360-degree view of the city's rooftops. On the menu, two concepts coexist: tagines and couscous on one side, pasta and pizzas on the other.
The ground floor is ideal for a leisurely lunch or dinner, while the rooftop is perfect for an aperitif that lingers until dusk. The staff are friendly and efficient, the cocktails are well-crafted, and the pizzas are up to scratch. A Berber lounge accommodates groups. It's the perfect stop after a day in the souks, whether you're with a partner or friends, not far from Jemaa el-Fna.
Know this: the prices follow those of a European terrace rather than a medina café. And without a reservation, you might end up squeezed into a corner of the rooftop with indifferent service. Book your table on the roof, and the view will do the rest.
