Caravan Agafay by Habitas review: our verdict
The show begins at sunset, when the Atlas turns pink behind the stone hills and the brazier lights up in the middle of the camp. Caravan Agafay lines up its beige tents in the Agafay desert, featuring king-size beds, Berber rugs, wooden showers, an infinity pool that flows toward the hills, and outdoor lounges covered in cushions.
Taken over by the Habitas group, the camp focuses on disconnecting: complimentary tea, yoga sessions, cocktails at the bar facing the setting sun, and kitchen service that holds up for both dinner and breakfast. The rest is less reliable: maintenance that leaves something to be desired, erratic hot water, non-potable tap water, and quad and buggy traffic near the pool. It's perfect for a couple wanting a night under canvas facing the Atlas and accepting campsite comfort; not for those expecting palace service at a palace price.
The best deal: dinner and a cocktail at the bar at sunset, the highlight of the place. The pitfall: relying on tap water; you'll need to ask for bottled water. The best time slot: sunset and sunrise, facing the Atlas.
