Our review
On the road to Amizmiz, about a dozen kilometres from the city, the Fairmont Royal Palm Golf Course stretches its 18 holes over 75 hectares. Designed by American Cabell B. Robinson, this par 72 follows the course of a wadi and alternates water features, palm trees, and masses of bougainvillea, hibiscus, and rose myrtles, with the Atlas peaks in view.
The fairways and greens are well-maintained year-round, and the course remains varied without becoming punishing: regulars find plenty to work on their game, while beginners can fall in love with golf. The practice area is equipped with swing analysis tools, with dedicated spaces for chipping and putting. Around it, the country club completes the day: pro shop, tennis courts, gym, hammam, and a restaurant where you can enjoy a good lunch after the round.
To note: non-members must book a forecaddie, costing 200 dirhams, in addition to the green fee. The club opens every day from 8 am to 6 pm, and the airport is only about twenty minutes away. Starting early in the morning lets you enjoy the course in the cool with light on the Atlas.
