Karma Café review: our verdict
Books line the walls all the way up to the ceiling, interspersed with black-and-white photographs, while the banquette seating disappears beneath striped cushions. Karma Café occupies the ground floor of the Amani Hotel and lives up to its literary café label, with the added bonus of a luminous ceiling featuring geometric patterns and a row of armchairs on the street.
It is a refuge for studying or reading: the room is quiet, the decor invites you to stay, and the hours, from 6:30 am to 11 pm, cover both morning coffee and evening tea. You can also have breakfast, pancakes, or a tajine here. It is not for a quick meal: service can be slow during busy times, and prices are higher than those in the neighborhood.
The glass to order: a coffee, carefully prepared by the bar team. The best time slot: early in the morning, right at 6:30 am, to work in peace. The trap: coming with a group during peak hours hoping to be served quickly.
