La Cuisine de Mona review: our verdict
At Mona's, it is Mona herself who welcomes guests, cooks, and hangs her own paintings on the walls between lime-green and vibrant pink partitions. The food tastes like Lebanese home cooking: olive-oil and pomegranate-seed-dusted hummus, vividly green tabbouleh, spicy batata harra, golden kebbeh, and for connoisseurs, raw kebbeh nayé prepared as it is in the homeland. The menu plays on generosity, offering cold and hot mezze to share, followed by grilled dishes.
The dining room is tiny, with a terrace only slightly larger, which is exactly what gives it its charm: you quickly feel among friends, whether as a couple or a group of three or four, and sometimes leave with a handmade jewel sold on-site. This is not the spot for a party of fifteen or a chic dinner: tables are close together and the decor is unabashed, more colorful studio than plush dining room.
The dish to order: a mezze assortment, with the hummus and batata harra. The smart tip: delivery and takeout, practical for a dinner at home. On the price side: tabbouleh 45 DH, hummus 40 DH, kebbeh nayé 100 DH (online menu, October 2026 update).
