Le Pilotis review: our verdict
Under the terrace lies the Atlantic. Le Pilotis lives up to its name: perched on stilts facing the ocean, behind large glass windows, its recent renovation has earned it a clean, calming decor with a genuine beach club vibe. The Franco-Moroccan menu looks out to sea: shellfish, fish, some grilled items, and delicate desserts.
A lunch with your feet almost in the water, a tête-à-tête facing the ocean, an occasion to celebrate: in this restaurant of the Tahiti Beach Club, the setting does most of the work. The service, though smiling, becomes erratic when the dining room fills up, and organization sometimes struggles to keep pace. Not for a large party: at eight, you may find yourselves split across two tables of four.
The dish to order: the shellfish, the real strength of the menu. The trap: arriving with eight or more people hoping for a single table. The good time slot: the weekend, when the house stays open without a lunch-to-midnight break; on weekdays, it closes between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
