Pointbar Marrakech review: our verdict
Between cocktails and dessert, a magician approaches the table and pulls out his cards: this little show is what makes Pointbar talk. The rest plays the dimly lit lounge in a quiet street of Guéliz: a large tree-lined terrace with sofas, sails, and lanterns, a contemporary room with high tables, a DJ every night, and a kitchen serving tapas and international dishes, from dumplings to burgers and chocolate fondant.
People come here in twos or with friends for an evening that starts with an aperitif and goes on: the cocktails are crafted, the service attentive, and on match nights, the screens make it a bar where you can follow the football. This is not the address for a bright dinner or a smoke-free party: the room is dark, smoking is allowed, and a bouncer stands at the entrance.
The glass to order: a cocktail, what the house does best. The good tip: the privatizable bar lounge, up to 50 people, for a birthday; a deposit is required for groups larger than ten. The best time slot: from 5 p.m. for the terrace, open until 2 a.m., with valet parking.
