Salut Maroc review: our verdict
Every step is painted, every parasol has its own color, and everything leads to the rooftop facing the Atlantic: Salut Maroc was designed for the eye, and it works. At sunset, the terrace of this Kasbah Essaouira hotel looks like the set we've seen on social media, with the added music and the sea as the horizon.
Perfect for a drink between friends when the sky ignites, or for the travel photo. For dinner, it's a different story: in the evening rush, the staff seems absent, the prices recall Europe, and the seafood lacks consistency, including cold calamari. Not for a celebratory meal or for those who want to be pampered: you come here for the view, and you know it.
The right time: arrive before sunset, to be seated when it plunges into the ocean. The trap: coming for a simple drink hoping for the front row, drinks are served in a separate area, less well-placed, even when the roof is empty.
