Umayya Corniche, 94 review: our verdict
You settle facing the beach, order some mezze, and then the chicha arrives: at Umayya, the evening unfolds in this order. The cuisine, Mediterranean with Syrian accents, serves muhammara, buckwheat ravioli with fresh cheese, or red tuna tartare, while the bar follows with cocktails like the Pink Bellini.
The setting, elegant and facing the sea, suits a dinner for two or a night out with friends, especially in the evening. The servers know how to recover from sometimes dry service, and the room fills up, even at the start of the week. Not for a large, hurried party: a group waited over fifty minutes for their dishes, arriving in a scattered order (July 2025).
The good deal: the chicha, the house's standout. The trap: coming without a reservation, even on a Monday evening. The best slot: dinner, for the view and the full menu; at lunch, some dishes like the mixed grill are unavailable.
