Waky Marrakech review: our verdict
A cable swings over an artificial lake, pulling riders from one module to another with the Atlas Mountains in the background: Waky presents itself as Morocco's first water ski park. The program includes wakeboarding, kneeboarding, wakeskating, and water skiing, with a formula designed for beginners. The lake was excavated within the Atlas Gardens estate, on the road to Ourika, nestled among palm trees and villas.
This is the outing for teenagers eager to slide, parents watching from the terrace with a lemonade in hand, or sports-loving friends. The Waky Bar, facing the lake, serves lunch, including pizzas, and the staff offers good advice to beginners. This is not a spot for a quiet meal, as the music plays loudly on the terrace, nor is it budget-friendly: the rates approach those in Europe.
The best time slot is the first session, right from opening at 11 a.m., before the lake gets crowded. The trap: relying on the rates and hours displayed online; the children's line closes earlier than the adults', so verify on site before paying.
