Zanzibar Restaurant Bar & Terrace review: our verdict
A singer, a saxophonist, dancers and male performers: Zanzibar has built its reputation on animation, and it is this energy that sets the pace of the evening. The chic, exotic decor plays up elegance, with a terrace and bar open from 1 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the address of Riu Tikida Beach, route de l'Oued Souss, in Founty.
Birthdays are well received here, and the team is happy to play along with surprises, just as groups of friends looking for a spectacular evening will find. The portions are generous, more international than typical, and the service is friendly, but it can get lost in the rush of orders when the room is full, to the point where waits become long. The music is loud, and the show stretches until midnight with long pauses between acts. Couples seeking an intimate dinner, or travelers who want to eat in an hour, will not find their needs met here.
The right time to come: arrive before 9:30 p.m., as the house recommends, to be seated when the show starts. The trap: coming early to eat hoping to see the whole show afterwards, you will have to stay until midnight. Correct attire is generally required in the evening.
