Cyber Park review: our verdict
After passing the entrance sign "Arsat Moulay Abdeslam," the noise of Mohammed V Avenue suddenly fades. Cyber Park is a historic garden that has been renovated: long red earth paths, olive trees, palm trees, trimmed hedges shaped into balls, and green zellige basins where water jets shoot up when the fountains are running. The large trees provide all the coolness of the place.
It is a stop on a walk between Guéliz and the medina, to rest in the shade, read on a bench, or let a child walk around without cars. Entry is free and the paths are clean and well-maintained. It is not the Majorelle Garden: no botanical collection, no museum or shop, just a public park, which is also part of its charm. You can tour it in half an hour.
The best time: early morning from 7 a.m., or late afternoon in summer when the shade is most useful; closes at 6 p.m., at 5 p.m. on Mondays. The trap: coming for the fountains, which are sometimes dry, which takes away much of the charm from the basins. The good tip: check the cultural agenda, the park occasionally hosts outdoor screenings.
