Domaine des Asnouss review: our verdict
Here, the welcome committee includes a peacock, donkeys, sheep, and Gus, the house dog. Domaine des Asnouss is an eco-lodge built in pisé on the Ourika plain, about twenty minutes from Marrakech, with the Atlas Mountains facing it: a grass-lined pool, a large Berber tent, olive-shaded gardens for reading, and spacious rooms overlooking a private patio with Italian-style showers.
Valérie and Patrick welcome guests like family, without ceremony, making it ideal for couples and families looking to slow down. You can stay overnight or come for the day to enjoy the pool and lunch, featuring simple, generous Moroccan cuisine at affordable prices. The estate also hosts wellness retreats and festivals. This isn't a base for evening outings in Guéliz; it's in the countryside, and the domain is best reached by car.
The best deal: the pool and lunch package, allowing you to sample the estate without booking a room. The best time slot: late morning, to enjoy the pool before dining under the shaded terraces.
