L'Entrecôte Café de Paris review: our verdict
Here, no one hands you a menu. L'Entrecôte Café de Paris was the first address in Morocco to serve the single-dish formula: sliced meat placed on a warmer to stay hot, topped with Café de Paris sauce prepared on-site since 1984, with fries served à discrétion. The walnut salad opens the meal, and the profiteroles drowned in chocolate close it.
The timber décor and red tablecloths remain unchanged, as do some of the waiters, and you cross paths with regulars who came as children. It is the address for a dinner without surprises, for families or old friends, on avenue Mers Sultan. It is not for those who wish to choose their cut or explore a menu, nor for a vegetarian meal.
The dish to order: the formula, then the profiteroles. The trap: arriving late on a Saturday evening, as the house takes no reservations on that day and the kitchen may close before midnight. The right slot: the weekend during the day, when service runs continuously from noon to midnight.
