L'Octave review: our verdict
The piano kicks in, a voice picks up an international standard, and the evening finds its rhythm: at L'Octave, music is part of the meal. The cuisine, entirely French, accompanies the concert without stealing the show, in a classy and cosy setting with low lighting, where you settle in for a long time.
On Rue Michel Ange, the team maintains a rare consistency in hospitality, led by the attentive but unobtrusive manager. You celebrate a mid-week birthday here, you meet up for a relaxed evening for two, and the bill remains reasonable for the level. Not for those seeking a dance floor or a noisy bar: here, you listen more than you shout.
The best slot: in the evening, when the pianist and singer are in place. The house also serves lunch on weekdays, from 12 h to 15 h, and remains closed on Sundays.
