Le Jardin review: our verdict
Hanging greenery crowns the ceiling, a veined marble counter illuminated from below, upholstered stools, and a large window overlooking the roundabout: Le Jardin has taken care of its setting right on Boulevard Mohammed V. Breakfast is served à la carte, featuring msemen, baghrir, and harcha, a tiered tray loaded with pastries and toast, or avocado and poached eggs for more modern cravings.
The glass does a good job of keeping out the boulevard's noise, even if a few honks filter through. Families and friends come here for a relaxed breakfast, and many return in the evening as the house serves until midnight. This isn't the spot for purists of homemade Moroccan crêpes: here, the setting and service take precedence over the culinary signature.
The dish to order: a breakfast formula with the tiered tray, or the avocado with poached eggs. The best time to come: early morning from 7 a.m., by the window. The insider tip: come back in the evening, as the dinner menu takes over.
