Mix Marrakech review: our verdict
To enter Mix Marrakech, you must locate the corridor of a residential building on Rue de la Liberté in Guéliz and push through the back door; this speakeasy effect is intentional. Inside, two levels hang beneath paper lanterns, featuring a backlit bar that shifts colors and a DJ booth positioned at the center of the room.
The cuisine blends chic street food with Mediterranean flavors, perfect for sharing: grilled octopus and broccoli hummus, crispy shrimp, fried calamari, glazed chicken wings, and a truffle cheeseburger. Then the music rises and the evening shifts gears. It's ideal for a birthday, a night out with friends, or a group wanting to dine and dance without changing venues; not suited for quiet conversation or a tight budget.
The dish to order is the grilled octopus, highlighted by the house. The drink to order is an espresso martini or a negroni between courses. The insider tip: for a birthday, the venue offers a personalized song. The best time to visit is a late dinner, as the evening stretches until 2 a.m.
