Riad la Brillante review: our verdict
Here, there are no painted ceilings or endless mosaics: La Brillante has chosen a clean, minimalist line. White walls, raw wood doors, steel-framed windows, a turquoise basin in the center of the patio, and contemporary art on the walls create a feminine universe scented with jasmine and orange blossom. On the roof, veiled alcoves face the Atlas Mountains at sunset.
With four rooms and two suites, the house maintains an intimate scale, and the staff attends closely to each guest. Stay here to explore the southern medina on foot: the Bahia Palace is on the street, and Jemaa el-Fna is less than ten minutes away. You can dine without leaving, either at the restaurant or on the rooftop terrace, and keep a slot for the hammam. Not for those dreaming of a traditional wooden riad with intricate tiles: here, the decor plays modernity.
The insider tip: the spa's hammam with a black soap scrub and treatments using natural Nectarome products. The pitfall: having a light sleep, as hallway noises can be heard early in the morning. The best time slot: the rooftop aperitif when the sky turns pink above the Atlas.
