Sky Bar Wow review: our verdict
You enter through the reception of a riad, walk around a patio featuring a midnight-blue pool, and ascend: Sky Bar Wow occupies the rooftop of Riad Wow on Jbel Lakhdar Street in the Bab Laksour quarter. Up here, there is an iron-framed glass roof, white upholstered armchairs, plants everywhere, and globe-shaped pendant lights; in the distance, the Koutoubia and, on clear days, the Atlas Mountains.
The atmosphere is cozy: jazzy music in the second-floor lounge, smiling service, and a menu ranging from drinks to Moroccan table fare, with couscous and tajines served on white tablecloths. Cocktails remain reasonably priced for the medina, and you can find beer here when the neighborhood rarely serves it. It's a spot to unwind after the souks, whether alone or with friends. Not for late-night partying: the house sometimes closes earlier than advertised.
The best time to visit: sunset, to watch the Koutoubia light up. The pitfall: arriving after 10:30 PM, as service may stop around 11 PM despite the posted hours.
