SOME - slow concept store review: our verdict
Behind a pink wall on boulevard el Mansour Eddahbi, a 1936 villa has been transformed into a slow concept store, defying the chaos of the souks. Dishes, baskets, fiber hangings, gourmet provisions, fashion, and committed literature are distributed room by room. At the Labo, color and material swatches allow artisans to customize stools, coffee tables, or cushions.
The venue also functions as a café: a home-cooked kitchen served inside or on the large terrace, discovered at the back of the villa as a surprise. People come alone to wander, with friends for a lunch followed by a shop tour, or for a gift that doesn't smell of a bazaar. Not for bargain hunters: the rooms are beautiful, but the prices reflect those of a designer boutique.
The best time to visit is lunchtime, to taste the home cooking before touring the rooms. The trap: coming on a Sunday or Monday, as the house is closed. The good tip: stop by the Labo to order a piece in the colors of your interior.
