The Folk review: our verdict
At The Folk, the stage is just as important as the plate. Under dozens of intricate lanterns, between red banquettes, Berber rugs, and green mashrabiya screens where cacti grow, the evening moves from traditional music and singing to dancers and DJs late into the night. On the plate, there are mezze to share, including hummus, falafel, and Moroccan salads, followed by slow-cooked dishes served on large copper platters.
This is the perfect spot for a birthday, a group of friends, or a couple looking for a lively evening without ending up in a nightclub. The service keeps up with the pace and the welcome is professional, even with management coming out to the dining room. Prices remain reasonable for a dinner show. This is not a place for a gourmet dinner or a quiet conversation: the food is good without pretension, and the music fills the entire space.
The best time to come is for dinner and to stay, as the house opens at 6:30 PM and closes at 2 AM. The dish to order is the mezze to share, perfect for snacking during the show. The best tip: book your table online before you arrive.
