Our review
Two kilometres down the road to Ourika, on the Agdal side, Al Fassia Aguedal continues the story of a house born in 1987 with a rare rule: it is women who run the kitchen and service. People come for Moroccan family-style cooking, a round of salads as starters, tajines and couscous, and above all the roasted lamb shoulder, which must be ordered the day before.
Dining takes place in the garden or in Moroccan salons, away from the city's noise. The waitresses are smiling and attentive, and the owner ensures that everyone feels welcomed as if at home. The house also operates as a riad, with spacious rooms, a heated pool and a marble hammam: practical for celebrating an anniversary or treating yourself to a quiet night a quarter-hour from the centre.
Know this: the prices are those of a renowned house, and some tajine portions seem light for the bill. Book in advance, especially on weekends, and remember to order the lamb 24 hours ahead: it is what justifies the detour.
