Alma & Co review: our verdict
At 9 pm, the singer and her musicians take the stage, and Alma & Co. transforms from dinner to party. On some evenings, a Gnaoua band takes over, followed by a DJ getting the crowd dancing, just steps from Bab Sebaa. Before that, you share tapas and well-served dishes, with cocktails executed properly.
The welcome is smiling and service attentive on ordinary evenings, a bit less organized during the festival; on big match evenings, the screen gathers the supporters. For a group of friends determined to go from table to dance floor in the same place, or a very late final drink. Not for a quiet tête-à-tête, nor for anyone dreaming of a tajine: the menu gives little space to Moroccan specialties, and the bill climbs a bit faster than elsewhere in Essaouira.
The glass to order: a cocktail, executed with precision. The right time slot: arrive a bit before 9 pm, to dine before the concert. The trap: on Gnaoua festival evenings, access may require a paid wristband (200 DH in June 2026) and a credit card; have it explained to you before paying.
