Awal Café review: our verdict
Facing the trees of the Botanical Gardens, Awal Café serves a breakfast that tastes homemade. The café plays this double card with simple and generous formulas: a skillet of eggs, pancakes, a mini-bowl of fruit granola, hot dishes, and bread that deserves to be mentioned.
The young and smiling team is led by two managers present in the dining room, and the place remains peaceful all day long. People come alone for a café crème and a slice of homemade carrot cake, with friends for brunch, or before a walk in the garden across the street. Those following a specific diet, vegetarian or otherwise, find more options here than elsewhere. For dinner, however, you will need to find another table: the house closes at 9 p.m.
The dish to order: the brunch formula, with the skillet of eggs and pancakes. The good tip: follow it up with a walk in the Botanical Gardens, just across the avenue.
