Duplex Steakhouse review: our verdict
Meat first, and it delivers: the steak arrives tender, the requested doneness is respected, and the quality is confirmed from visit to visit. Duplex Steakhouse, on Mohammed V Boulevard, plays the serious grilling game in the new city, with a full menu centered around cuts of beef.
The setting suits occasions, whether a birthday or a dinner for two, and the staff is helpful and good advice. Prices remain reasonable for this level of meat, making it a spot to note for passing carnivores in Fès, open from noon until 1 a.m. Less so for those who like sides: rice and vegetables are sometimes well-cooked, sometimes almost raw, and service can drag when the dining room fills up.
The dish to order: the steak, in your preferred doneness. The trap: the accompanying vegetables, sometimes too crunchy; better to specify your expectations when ordering.
