Grillade poissons chez Redouane review: our verdict
Fish arrives from neighboring stalls, and it shows on the plate: grilled sardines, sole, Saint-Pierre, calamari, and fried mackerel, sometimes oysters, served on colorful crockery alongside lentils, salad, eggplant purée, and bread. The grilling is done simply, with no more than a squeeze of lemon, and that is all it asks for.
A few tables covered with waxed cloth line the market alley: the dining room pulses to the rhythm of the stalls, amidst merchants, regulars, and visitors. Redouane and his team offer a warm welcome, with attentive service that is not rushed when dishes arrive in quick succession. This is the spot for a quick lunch in the city center; not for a quiet meal, nor for those who insist on an impeccable table.
The bargain: four soles with lentils, salad, eggplant purée, and a drink for 85 DH (September 2025 price). The pitfall: trying to find parking in the streets around the market. The best time: lunch, as the house closes at 7 PM and does not work on Fridays.
