HelloCrab review: our verdict
The name doesn't lie: at HelloCrab, crab is everywhere. Sautéed, slow-cooked in a tajine, or served à la seafood boil style with shrimp and corn on a bed of rice, it's meant to be picked apart by hand. The surprise on the menu are the stuffed lemon halves, baked with cheese in their own pan. Sea soups, croquettes, loaded fries, and tacos round out the offerings for those less adventurous.
The room is simple and bright, lending itself to meals with friends and families who enjoy eating with their hands. The welcome is cheerful and the service attentive. Those seeking fine or light cuisine will be disappointed: rich sauces, generous frying, here they embrace the fat, and you leave full rather than rested.
The dish to order: the stuffed lemons with mussels, followed by a crab sauté. The catch: portions are more modest than before, while the price hasn't dropped. Note: open every day from noon to 11:30 PM.
