Kasr al Assil review: our verdict
Several lounges, traditional Moroccan décor, and local music in the background: Kasr al Assil stages the Morocco of grand houses, just steps from the ministries. The menu follows the same line, featuring well-executed tajines such as lemon chicken or meat with apricots and almonds, a generous couscous, a pastilla, and a kefta in butter that has its followers.
The service is smiling and attentive, and the dining room is impeccable. A good choice for introducing friends passing through to Moroccan cuisine, taking parents out for dinner, or simply taking your time in the quiet of the administrative quarter. However, do not look for reinvented or creative cuisine here: the house respects the classics to the letter, and that is the entire point.
The dish to order: the meat tajine with apricots and almonds, or its version with lemon chicken. The good tip: finish with mint tea, one of the house's pride and joys.
