L'Ardoise Gourmande review: our verdict
Sandrine handles the kitchen while Fabrice manages the dining room, and this couple-run operation is what sets L'Ardoise Gourmande apart. The cuisine is French with occasional forays into other culinary horizons, and everything is made in-house from fresh ingredients: Saint-Pierre with scallops, Asian tartare with guacamole, beef fillet with chimichurri sauce, and depending on the day, oysters from Oualidia or Burgundy snails.
Whether you are dining for two or gathering a group of friends looking to switch from local cuisine, the address on Boulevard Hassan II, next to Nicolas, is sure to convince. Fabrice is always happy to guide you through the wine list, and regulars often return twice during the same stay. This is not the place to taste a tajine, nor for an improvised late-night meal at 11 pm: evening service ends at 10 pm.
The trap: trying to visit on Sunday, the day it is closed, or on Wednesday evening when only lunch is served. The good tip: let Fabrice choose the wine to go with your dish. Service runs from 12 pm to 3 pm, then from 7 pm to 10 pm.
