Pure Passion review: our verdict
Embroidered tablecloths and carefully arranged plates face the boats of the port at Pure Passion, a venue that embraces fine dining on Agadir's marina. Fish is the advertised specialty, ranging from the house selection of white fish and cuttlefish to pil-pil prawns, yet it is the meat that truly shines, with tender beef ribs and melt-in-the-mouth lamb kidneys. For desserts, the restaurant celebrates local terroir with dates, saffron, and argan oil.
Ideal for a romantic dinner or an occasion deserving a touch of ceremony, the venue offers a charming setting and attentive service. However, in the kitchen, consistency is not always on the menu: a bland seafood risotto and fish overcooked to a point of dryness have been noted. Tight budgets will find this place out of reach, as prices are high, appealing mainly to purists who come solely for fish cooked to perfection.
The trap: arriving without a reservation on a July or August evening, when tables turn over quickly. The dish to order: the beef ribs or lamb kidneys, which are more consistent than the fish. Service runs from noon to midnight, every day.
