Our review
Five kilometres from the centre, on the road to Amizmiz, La Terrasse by Jean-François Piège overlooks the pool and gardens of Selman. The Michelin-starred chef offers a French cuisine inspired by the Mediterranean and Morocco: red tuna skewers with pepper, sea bass gravlax with dill, rigatoni with lobster in their bisque, and above all, the calamari carbonara, the most distinctive dish on the menu.
The decor is by Jacques Garcia, in the palatial vein of the hotel, and the terrace adjoins the equestrian shows of the hotel: you can sometimes see thoroughbreds passing by during the meal. In the afternoon, you can stop by for tea, then for an aperitif. The waitstaff takes care of the welcome. This is the address for a birthday lunch, a romantic dinner, or an invitation to visiting friends.
Know this: dining is only on Sunday and Monday (until 11 p.m.), while the terrace closes at 6 p.m. on other days. The budget exceeds 500 dirhams per person and service can have its ups and downs during busy hours. Arrange for a taxi or a car, then take your time: the setting is perfect for it.
