La Trattoria review: our verdict
Book a table at La Trattoria, and only one: the one overlooking the pool, in the garden lit up as night falls. The decor is the house's claim to fame, and it delivers on its promises in photos as well as in person. The menu, however, looks toward Italy and Europe rather than Morocco, unsurprisingly, but in a presentation that flatters.
When everything aligns, it's a successful dinner for two: impeccable service, well-executed dishes, an evening without a false note. But consistency isn't guaranteed. An unfindable reservation upon arrival, a water bottle that takes its time, dishes judged bland for their price—these things happen too. For an occasion where the setting matters most; to avoid for a gourmet coming to judge the cuisine.
The good tip: book the indoor space by the pool, the rest is distributed first-come, first-served. The trap: arriving without having your reservation confirmed, they sometimes get lost. The best slot: as night falls, when the lights reflect in the pool.
