Naranj review: our verdict
Fresh, puffy bread arrives hot from the oven, setting the tone at Naranj. Surrounding it, Lebanese cuisine is served as shared mezze, including houmous, mouhamara, taboulé, and fattouche salad, before heartier dishes like beef chawarma. Everything is served in a cozy dining room under large woven pendant lights or on a rooftop terrace planted with greenery, located on Riad Zitoun el Jdid street, just a few minutes from Jemaa el-Fna.
The venue works well for a family dinner or a large group: the team knows how to serve a crowd without losing their rhythm, and the welcome remains friendly. It's the perfect spot to unwind after the souks with fresh, generous cuisine without any fuss. It's not for those who want a glass of wine with their mezze: the menu focuses on house-made mocktails, with no wine or alcoholic cocktails.
The dish to order: a selection of shared mezze, featuring houmous and mouhamara, served with hot bread. The best time to visit: winter on the roof, when an outdoor fire warms the terrace. The best tip: service runs continuously from 12:30 to 22:30 every day, making it practical for a late lunch.
